As WIMA 2009 draws to a close, feedback is overwhelmingly positive.
The European Summit for NFC Developers has, for a third year running, established itself as Europe's leading NFC event. With a setting and schedule that has enabled start-up companies such as 1 OK Solutions, Mobi.Ubiq, mobilead and Red Solution Finland OY to meet the likes of Nokia, NXP Semiconductors and Sony, the event marks a significant contribution to the progress of NFC technology.
The organisers' strategic planning enabled WIMA to bring together over 45 exhibiting companies (an increase of more than 20% on 2008), while maintaining the event's overall participation levels of 350 guests - all this despite a difficult economic climate.
The fact that a world's first - the announcement of the latest Nokia 6216 classic - took place during WIMA 2009 is testimony to the event's privileged status amongst industry experts.
Laurent Puons, WIMA's Managing Director, is convinced that NFC technology can make a substantial difference to consumers' daily routines. At the same time, though, he has acknowledged that the full effects and true scope of the technology will not begin to be felt until 2012. As a result, he invites everyone involved in developing NFC applications, products and services to attend WIMA 2010 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, from 20 to 22 April 2010.
