Winners Named in NFC Forum & WIMA's NFC Global Competition 2012 Spotlight on good2gether, Korea Smart Card, and SAi at WIMA in Monaco The NFC Forum, a non-profit industry association that advances the use of Near Field Communication (NFC), and WIMA, a worldwide event dedicated to NFC technology, have announced the winners in their Tap Into Innovation: NFC Global Competition 2012. Travel was the common theme in the judges' selections, while the audience voted for NFC badges that support non-profits. The winning entries were named at an awards ceremony on 12 April as part of WIMA NFC MONACO: Best Innovative Solution for the entry that uses NFC technology in the most inventive way to address a market, business, or consumer need -- SAi (Israel): Tag-a-Bag luggage tagging and identification Best Business Viability for the entry that offers an NFC solution with the most commercial potential -- Korea Smart Card Co. Ltd. (South Korea): Mobile T-money ticketing solution Best User Experience for the solution that best leverages the power, ease, and convenience of NFC technology -- Korea Smart Card Co. Ltd. (South Korea): Mobile T-money ticketing solution The Audience Award, given at the ceremony to the solution that received the most votes from the WIMA audience – good2gether (USA): good2gether and Do Good Badges for nonprofit support The winners were selected by a panel of expert judges from a pool of entries triple the size of the last competition, which highlights the dramatic surge in growth and interest in NFC implementations. The 2012 entries covered a broad range of new approaches to established applications and inventive solutions in new fields, for both consumer and business use. As well as potentially winning an award, entrants in the competition can look forward to benefiting from the global media coverage the competition attracts, as well as interest from industry leaders and venture capitalists and the opportunity to share ideas and forge relationships with other leading developers from business and academia.  

How to Enter the Competition 
Tap Into Innovation: NFC Global Competition 2012 is open to anyone aged 18 or older and there is no entry fee.

Deadlines

Finalists 
A jury composed of senior and recognized professionals and experts from academia and industry will evaluate each entry and select three finalists in each category, for a total of nine finalists. Finalists will be announced March 19, 2012.   


Awards Ceremony
The Jury will select three of the winning finalists, and the audience will select the fourth winner for the Audience Award. The four winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at WIMA in Monaco on April 12, 2012. Winners will also have the opportunity to present a demo of their solutions at the NFC Forum booth at WIMA on April 13, 2012.
All four winners will receive a Global Competition trophy and all nine finalists will receive a certificate of commendation.
